...Which always made me wonder: how Divine, Mikki, Katie and Ulrika doing after all those years ? Оf course, being car hijackers and not just common thugs, they are unlikely to still collaborate with cannon-fodder recruitment programs of R* (with Niko being apotheosis of waste), yet still... Could make nice side-story DLC somewhen.

Considering cross-overs: given chances, I would love to see Die Anna-esque lass – always nice to play as confirmed psycho on *car*-powered rampage spree for once.

If anything, I wouldn't mind one-third of the GTAV protags to be female. It's not exactly a fresh sight to see one part of a team in crime movies being a girl with a sniper rifle or a pistol or being the intel and support for the group, handling the more sneaky/intricate parts of a crime. Of course, that's a movie stereotype, but they could also explore the other things a female criminal could be capable of. Of course, they also need to build on her background well, otherwise it will universally come across as forced.

Now that we know there isn't going to be one in this game though, the best we can do is discuss the possibilities.

Hm=hm... So, judging by same criteria, napalm is non-canonical since there are none in PSOne version of Worms: Armageddon/World Party, right ?

Now, having no more female protagonist in GTA' sequel = granted. WTF?!

Hm, just got a few new thoughts there…
For real, why Die Anna was never questioned be Carmageddon community and ever asked to return after so much years powered by original voice actress, yet vocal majority of GTA III+’s community is clearly against remotely femine at their control ?

Gamers relating to kool dudes due to having knob ? C’mon, 99% of GTA fans still lacks any balls to behave even remotely like Niko or CJ, while Molo from Vigilante 8 clearly goes as top of role roof for remaining percent.

Problems with writing strong female characters being a man ? Um… how about problems of writing action men being coach potato ? Grand story IV show complete incompetence of R* about crime organizations – IRL hitmen and thugs are extremely disposable people with almost zero chances to climb anywhere. Well, jacking car with it’s owner inside can’t go as brightest idea as well, I agree…

So why ? Let’s analyze Anna again – she is (like other, male or female, drivers) tire-crazy girl, who spends her time competing in roadkill racing tournament. During game contestants are free to start homicide, reach checkpoint or just wreck each other. And this is a keyword here. Free. Those ladies goes where they want to do what they like. I simply can’t imagine any of Carmageddon, Rogue Trip or Twisted metal taking orders from some moron few steps above on criminal ladder. Only exclusion here is Coyote gang from Vigilante 8, though Mr. Burn is rather liberal with his own crew, allowing his recruits to be themselves as long, as they play along his plans.

So, here it go. Modern GTA is game about having rail-road trip though wide open sandbox. Player can do what they want, yet story set in obsidian shackles. While same goes for Saints Row, it’s at least assume player at leading role in own life, being boss already, not some faceless pawn on big brother’s chessboard. So, now here goes some wild conclusion: while male criminals tends to dream about promotion, female just doing thing because they want to. Really should be kept away from GTA until it would become actual sandbox once again.
