To older fans: Do you like GTA5 AND the older games at the same time?

It seems like whenever I talk to someone they're either split between only liking the newer GTA games or liking the older GTA games and loathing the other side with a passion.

But is there anyone out there who likes the newer games like GTA5 as well as the older ones?

I personally like GTA 5 a lot but I first saw GTA on the very first one for the PS1. Then I saw 3 and Vice City but it took until San Andreas until I got to own a game.

The only GTA game I dislike is 4 but to me my two favorite GTA games are San Andreas and 5, two games on both side of the spectrum.

Is there anyone else who like both the older and newer Grand Theft Auto games?

GTA VC is still my favorite followed very closely by GTA SA. GTA III, IV, and V come next as my favorites in that specific order.

People who hate the older games obviously didn't start with them and people who hate the newer games obviously cannot get detached from the older ones.

Graphics aside SA was the best GTA gameplay wise for me and I'm not even into the whole hoodlum aspect. There was a lot more to do, and who doesn't like having 7 people following you and killing cops? also the cheats were better.

my order SA, VC, 5, 3, and 4 was the worst in my opinion.

I guess I'm one of the very few who actually really liked GTA IV. However, my main two gripes with that game are that it's always nighttime and every car turns like it's a giant boat.

I had a blast with GTA on PS1. GTA 3 blew me away in '01, I still play it on my phone on occasion. I had fun with VC until SA. IV trumped all previous installations for me.
They're all fun.

You're not. I could handle the cars and bikes pretty well. But yes, it was always too dark.
I like how IV showed off a lot more of the physics system and Niko was unrealistically tough.
I'll say IV has more charm, V dropped the charm for more razzle dazzle. It's still fun though.

I wish V kept most of IV's physics. Crashing through the windshield just isn't the same.

I found the cars alright to maneuver; the traffic was more congested in GTA IV than other games in the series. I guess this added to the more realistic feel of the game. Still it was annoying at times. I used to love speeding across the bridges in Vice City.

GTA IV was always dark.

I agree the GTA IV had a better physics system and more charm. I think the story was much better to.
GTA V is still a fun game though.

Well I'm nearly 28 so I guess that makes me old in gaming terms and yes I have liked most of the GTA games including the new ones.

My favourite of all time is Vice City, it had a certain character about it. Even though the world was small it seemed quite intricate and the story was brilliant.
San Andreas second, GTA V third.

I liked GTA IV too and I think it gets a bad rap.
