Who's hoping for co-op campaign?

I know it's at least in one of the IGN articles.

"Why a single-player story with multiple characters? Why no multiplayer co-op?"

Dan Houser: It would be impossible to do that and keep the level of precision we've got in this. You could make a great co-op game, but we felt that we're doing other bits of our multiplayer that will fulfill those desires in ways we think are very fun.

Thank God for that. Games where you can basically plug co-op into the single-player at any time are always worse off for it.

When a mission starts, like the rappelling/sniper parts, the players would start at their spots. And if someone wanted to swap they could use the feature and one of the other 2 could confirm a swap.

If they have seperate missions, the other 2 could tag along or do their own thing. But if its a mission where all players are needed, it could ask for the other players to confirm the mission for whoever triggers it.

This will bring gaming to a whole new level.

It's only impossible if you give up.

Nothing is impossible.

One of the major points of the character switching is to be able to do what you want and avoid having too many tedious stretches in missions. Forcing you into a single character would put them right back at square one in that regard. You'd lose the freedom of choice that they're trying to give you with the character switching.

Not to mention the fact that each character has solo missions or that there are ones with just two characters. It's not like a Gears of War where there's constantly other squad members around to control.
