Fox News epitomizes why America gets a bad rep over here, in Australia, and many other places. America isn't the only place where free speech is prided by the people, however it does seem a place where the virtue of restraint doesn't have any merit. Fox News simply couldn't thrive in any other industrialized nation because international broadcasters don't tolerate opinion driven rants in place of proper journalism.

Then there's Fox's weird negative spin on terms like "socialist" or "liberals".
The first is really funny because of course elderly care, social security, health care, public transport etc that western societies tend to think are positive things are all socialist concepts.
The second term annoys me because it assumes that people are either living as a "Liberal" or "Conservative", when people as intelligent beings are liberal or conservative entirely dependent on the individual subject matter.

Yep. Completely agreed on the socialist and liberal thing.

There was a topic on here a few weeks back where the guy claimed we were taking away his freedom of speech and being Socialist. Fox News has ushered in a generation that doesn't even know what Socialism is, and to me, is quite QUITE sad.

I agree with what you say.

Although, the stereotyping or negative spin works both ways, because for those who are conservative or Republican and have a different perspective on issues and topics, the media has fabricated this false image and labeled anyone who opposes a left or liberal idea as a racist. Which to me, is incredibly incorrect and offensive, and I'm neither left or right.

So in my mind, both sides play the sick game.

And, as you said, Hannity drives me nuts. The first thing he did when Osama was "killed" was congratulate Bush and gave no credit to Obama.

Hannity is a nut case, but in that sense he was 100% correct. Obama took credit for something he had nothing to do with. But doesn't take credit for bad things that are his fault. The perfect American president I suppose :P lol

Getting the intel and then waiting until the perfect opportunity to strike is having nothing to do with it? Did you see him at the correspondents dinner the night before? that's what I call one cool cucumber!. It's also worth noting he could of just had the complex obliterated which could of resulted in mass civilian casualties and bad press (like the drone strikes typically result in), yet he had the good sense to see that a tactical insertion of the US's very best men was a better option. Someone obsessed with their public image would of taken absolutely no chances and practically nuked the place. Oh, and all of that without compromising our values as a nation.

The killing of that SOB will go down as one of the great feats of The President and DEVGRU.

So as to stay on topic and not seem like a GameFaqs pundit: I'm not sure I completely understanding what you mean, TC. I mean, I think I do, but...um, not exactly.

Arguing with someone who wants to try to rationalize Obama as being a bad president is like arguing with a mentally handicapped child. They aren't going toadmit they're wrong because they don't have the capacity to do so.
