I love how Vice City FM in TBOGT focused on the late 80s instead early/mid.

Rockstar knew they had done the rest of the decade enough in VC and VCS, they they went with the more understated side of the decade. I hope they do this with a 90s station. Something more mid-late 90s pop which they haven't done. San Andreas was early 90s and GTAIII was late 90s but not actual songs you heard on radio in late 90s. So some Third Eye Blind, Ace of Base, Mariah Carey, Cranberries, Hootie & the Blowfish, No Doubt, etc...

That would be awesome as Hip-Hop's golden era was during the mid to late 90's as well. What we have now is trash. I'm thinking some Nas,(early) Cash money records, Jay-Z, AZ, Snoop, Dre, ect

This marks the first time I've ever seen someone desire to hear Ace of Base.

Late nineties nostalgia isn't ready yet. Some tried in the late 2000's and failed. With little clues in this game's setting and media, it looks like the current, modern 80's love will be hinted at.

Don't get me wrong, I like the 90's as well (93, 94, 98, 99), but it looks a way off. He'll, even 90's kids prefer the 80's, I've found.

Late 90's music was garbage compared to early 90's.

Early 90's popular music = grunge, alternative rock, g-funk, thrash metal

Late 90's popular music = proto-crunk, nu metal, boy bands, ska

1997-2000 was a dark age of music.

Early 90s also had the best rap, but I'll probably get flamed now for liking rap.

90's rap's best was 90 - 92, (funky drummer, jazz samples), then 93, 94, and 97 (Nas, Big).

I agree with the late 90's mainstream, though. Way too much disco revival and bubblegum boy/girl band pop.

Implying ska is garbage? You have no soul.
