Then, be smart...

Use a .jpeg of said map and voila... Use paint to make markers and have fun.

so pull out your laptop whenever you play GTA?, ehh....

You don't have a smartphone?

no.. how would you get a jpeg and paint on a smart phone anyway?

What do you mean? I posted that last post from a smartphone, then went back to downloading and viewing all kinds of image types on it. There are tons of image editor apps, and I'm sure one or two might function nicely as a map/landmark system. How could you not use a smartphone this way? They're great for fullscreen games with things to reference, like alchemy in Skyrim.

Using a physical map with tag or tacks, while clever, it wouldn't be practical for certain environments and/or situations. I like the TCs idea about the placing of permanent markers; eh, with that being said - I love having the GTA IVs city memorized by heart, so while I'd love to see the feature, I wouldn't be to broken up if they excluded it.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the fact that it would be much easier to set your GPS destination if the markers were in the game map and not on a paper or JPEG map.

Ain't nobody got time for that!

TC's idea is better

Or merge both ideas and include an app in your in-game smartphone. :p

Those smartphones will be the death of us. 'The Terminator' anyone? :/

Pfffft, just do what I do and take an unreasonable amount of time to memorize almost the entire map. Like a true man.

Anybody else like how people are trying to come up with a better idea than the TC's, but are failing terribly?

I think everyone in the gaming world weather you are a Nintendrone, Sony Pony, Xbot or part of the Master Race can agree that Patcher should be fired.

haha, there are a few on this topic that are looking at this logically.

Why come up with a different idea than what TC mentioned? Why would I get out a physical map to mark things? Why would I get out my computer or smartphone to mark places on my map? It is far easier using TC's idea. Let me favorite a spot on my map and be able to set my GPS to that point and show me the best way to get there. Why use a secondary source?
