Any tips for someone who sucks? >_>

I don't know how you guys handle the really fast ones(expert). :(

it reminds me of Dr Mario or Tetris - like after you screw up when it's going really fast - things quickly can get out of hand. Especially all those commands with the arrows when they go really fast! Ugh..

With enough practice I can S the regular stuff, but the expert mode and that other mode can sometimes be a struggle to me. I mean, I noticed there are some easier songs on expert, but some are just relentless with so many commands. Once I screw up a few, I find it increasingly difficult to focus.

I think I'll just link to a few previous threads, although I have to say that the overarching theme of the advice will be "Practise!" NegaZelda has made some very good "general help" posts in the past, and some other people:

Hope this can all help, if you have problems with any track in particular, post here and sometimes there are specific tips we can give you ^_^

For me, I was terrible when I started. I just went through the required basic series getting S ranks (didn't know about stoic back then haha) which you should easily be able to do. Then, expert isn't much harder. I S ranked all the challenge mode experts and then did the series for each. Ultimate was more difficult but don't expect to improve without practice! Some songs I had to do over and over again because I wasn't used to the mode.

You can play in the chaos shrine with some faster songs and just work on getting through as much of a higher level as you can. This is also true for ultimate mode. You can use the practice option and get better at the song without having to restart if your hp runs out.

Aqualta gave me some good advice when I was stuck on some ultimate songs! Use a team that you can equip good items/abilities on for songs you find harder, and get through the song as best you can. If you're trying to get S rank you should do this through stoic because it's a lot easier, but use items at first until you think you can do a stoic run. Now I find all the ultimate songs pretty easy. [:

Is there a certain kind of music stage you're having trouble with? Don't worry, you will get better. :)

Each time you 'tap', you are actually playing a certain 'beat'. Hum out the song if it make things easier for you.

One tip I can suggest that worked for me. Play some songs on ultimate, even if you fail them miserably just keep at it for 5-10 minutes. Now go play on Expert. It will seem soooo much slower and you'll have a little easier time with it.

My tip:

Familiarize yourself with the song: every beat, tune, harmonic, etc. That's what I do.

To help with completing the song, use Cure spells, Protect spells, Elegy, etc. Mirage and Escape helps a lot too.

I got a lot better once I stopped watching the triggers to try to time them perfectly, and just tapped/slid with the beat of the song. And yeah, of course, practice.
