How long is the game?

I heard it was close to eight hours?
If so should I wait for the game of the year edition.

This game will drop in price soon anyway. If you cant justify $60 then don't spend it. I'm renting this game but that's because i rarely spend $60 on any game. I've only spent full price on 2 games this year and that was ME3 and Borders 2. Both i've spent over 50 hours + on.

And in terms of length. It can be anywhere from 10 hours to 20 hours maybe more maybe less. Depends on how you play it. People can't seem to grasp this concept. It's not a linear action game like COD which is about 4 hours for everyone on normal Difficulty. You can spend 2-3 hours on a mission depending on what you do and places you visit or you can do the same mission in 20 mins.

Yeah wait 2 years for a gOTY edition that wil cost about $50 anyway when it comes out. Why not actually wait for black friday sales or until the game drops in price(which it will). That way IF you enjoyed the game you can spend extra money on DLC IF you want. Or rent the game.

I know people love GOTY editions but seriously. the game LITERALLY came out.

If I had to give you an honest estimation of how long I think its going to take me, being someone who does a moderate amount of searching for stuff and someone who does the sidequests as they are presented, I forsee this taking in the 12-15 hours range, which was a bit up from my previous estimate of 8-12. This is going to totally be dependent on how complex some of the missions are and how many sidequests are presented.

Good to know. I usually run over what ever the estimated times are because I really try to look in every corner. Probably going to wait for a price drop because I am still knee deep in BL2 and have yet to play the Leviathan dlc even though I purchased it day 1; add unfinished KoAR and The Witcher 2 to the unfinished list and it makes it hard to justify a new game right now.
