What is the in-game/story reason that Daud keeps Corvo in an easily escapable cage with two inept guards in the room rather than just killing him?

He plans to sell him, alive, or something along those lines.

After you get thrown into that hole by the guard and have to escape, there's a letter on table that says this.

Also, Corvo has no gear and I'm not sure Daub has any reason to believe that his powers go beyond Blink.

I used possession to get out and Bend Time II to escape.
