Why are comeback mechanics acceptable in fighting games?

It's called strategy. So you're telling me you're going to rush in blindly against XF3 Hulk and expect to outplay your opponent?

Okay, you obviously missed the point, was that you already outplayed the person. Then you had to run away from them because of that.

I guess by Marvel 3 logic you should just let 2/3 of your team die so that you can become more of a threat too.

No, I didn't miss the point at all.

You don't necessarily have to be offensive to outplay your opponent.

...in the proposed scenario, you're fighting someone with LV3 X-Factor. That means you killed two of their characters.

Lol at people still complaining about xfactor.

My god get over it already. If you get three characters stomped by xfactor stop blaming the game... It's still your fault not the game's. Try looking in the mirror.

If one team loses two characters and both teams
Still have xfactor... That game will end up being an easy win 95% of the time for the lead team... But still it's better than 99.9% of the time, which would happen without it . It adds hype and a more prevalent "maybe?" factor.

It's adds so much to the metagame and is a very fun comboing tool when trying to finish a match in style. IMO XF is only complained
about by people who need to blame something for damaged fighting game egos.

Seriously, get over it already people.

Yes, I get that. And you can outplay them by timing out XF or you can go on the offensive.

IF you used XF to "outplay" your opponent...why can't they use it to come back?

Not saying XF is 100% fair

This argument is on a NoizyChild level of idiocy. First of all, who in this topic said this happens to them?

"I think molesters should be locked up."
"Ugh, lol if your getting molested then it's your fault for letting it happen!"

You're trying too hard.

And Platypus is completely right. X-Factor is nowhere near an instant win button. If you get taken out because of XF, then it's your fault. YOU got outplayed. YOU didn't block properly. YOU got hit. YOU messed up.

XF doesn't magically erase your ability to block, defend, attack, or hell, ACTIVATE YOURS TOO.

Stop blaming XF for your mistakes. Take responsibility for your failures.

Also, note how TC has yet to post anymore in his own topic.

Now can we all get off of the bridge?

You shouldn't have to run from someone you outplayed and you just said you shouldn't go in on an X-Factored character anyway.

Depends on the character and the player.

Nobody in their right mind would go in on XF Hulk, Haggar, Nemesis, Thor, etc.

Likewise, nobody smart would run away from XF Arthur, Chris, Hawkeye, etc.

You either take them out early, or take them out before they pop XF.

This is why XF adds another layer of strategy to the game.

If my opponent's strongest character in XF is, say, Vergil, then I either take out Vergil at the beginning, or I learn how to deal with him in XF.
