Who is a good point character for a vergil/strider team?

I want to start using vergil's dhc to ToD characters but having a hard time figuring out a point character that would also utilize the strider assist.

dante. not the best point since his opening gambit is easily mauled by wolverine, but prolly derpiest strider user in the game

I use morrigan/vergil/strider as my main team. You could give that a try.

Some other good choices would be:
Viper
Dante
Wesker
Nova
Doom
Killarock404

Any character that can do a good amount of damage without using a groundbounce or wall bounce.

not the best point since his opening gambit is easily mauled by wolverine,

'eh, it's okay. double jump lets him get some pretty good space and dantes hitboxes tend to beat wolverines if you manage to get them out first

Non troll answer: A keepaway character like Chris or Hawkeye. Maybe even Dr. Strange.

Zero too, Marn manages to body most people despite having an ass Vergil and Strider.

Best Choices: Zero, Dante, Viper, Doom, Wesker, Morrigan, and Captain America

Mid Tier Choices: Deadpool, Taskmaster, Iron Man, MODOK, Skrull

It has to be someone who has an answer to zoning with just strider assist.

Characters like Nova and Felicia work great with vajra and love swords DHC. However, if you play the team you will find that you will lose to strong zoning teams.

Chris and Hawkeye work also.

Again the you need a character that can deal with zoning with just vajra.
