what happens, similar to weskers super, is that he manages to slide past you and you have a split second of not blocking, so you get crossed up
you basically always have the time to upback after he does it, which should make this way harder if not impossible to happen

Yeah it's pretty rage inducing when it becomes a 50/50. It'll probably take a lot of trial & error to find out if there's a pattern to his orbs depending on the spacing from which he executes the hyper. --- PSN: SSJ_Hasham XBL: Darth Hasham

One thing I've noticed with Phantom Dance and Dimension Slash is that the first few 'wall bounces' of Vergil and Wesker are always:
1.) around15 degrees angled either up or down towards the direction of the opposing point character 2.) after that, around 15-45 degrees angled in down or up (opposite of the first 'bounce') towards the point character 3.) If they start off screen, they will usually hit you within the 3rd 'bounce'.
I kept this in mind for a while now and I can block random Phantom Dance/Dimension Slash almost consistently. Like maybe 95% consistent, instead of the usual 50/50. --- UMvC3: Felicia (A) / Amaterasu (B) / Strider (Y). Philippines' Felicia and Amaterasu representative. Offline PS2/PS3 pad player with weird configuration.
