Capcom pushing for more single player content in it's fighting games.

That's a step in the right direction since their fighters don't have much in that regard.

Same i don't care much about the single player. It's all about the engine and the gameplay for me. But with that being said i don't mind single player content on fighting games. I will take any extra cool add on i can get on top of a great fighting engine.

Yes you do because great numbers of casual gamers care about stuff like that and if Capcom can increase the sales of fighters by doing this, you'll see more fighting games and updates.

I really don't see why people think that single player content will take away from netcode. The budget for netcode is what it is. You have a team dedicated to it, with a set budget. If budget would be cut from netcode, at worst it would be how many testers they hire or for how long they test. If Capcom wants to start having better story modes, chances are they will just increase the budget for house games.

Also Blazbue is a great fighter, very balanced, with incredible Netcode and plenty of single player content. I doubt Arc System spent more than Capcom on their game

Anyways, I can't stand the graphic novel style of story blazblue offers. I rather watch it movie style like MK9. The other alternative is making a mini game mode and playing through that as your story, like Tekken 6. So MvC4 might have a mini version of marvel ultimate alliance in it or make it a movie. And only for MvC4 would I wanna see a graphic novel style, if they could give it a comic book feel

This is true. I remember loving spending hours earning points to unlock characters in marvel 2 - a feature most self-proclaimed non-casuals hated. Then again, that was back when online didn't exist. Now that I have real people to play against (no matter how bad the netcode), I dont care much about single player modes.

Also I call myself a casual and I can honestly say that things like the subspace pos in Brawl was wasted efforts that could've gone towards balancing. With a little more time spent on gameplay, things as blatantly stupid as tripping might not have happened.

I would love more SP FG content. MP is fun but having that unlockable stuff for SP feels like the old days. I'm all for it.

I know.

I'm saying that with a little more time spent on gameplay, it's possible to see how bad the mechanic really was. I mean most of us figured how stupid it was after a few months (some even before launch). Surely, there was at least a slight possibility that SORA could see the in-your-face stupidity too with a little more time.
