Are we getting to the experimental phase yet?

You know the phase where everyone realizes which characters are going to win every tournament, and the people that don't place highly are going to start experimenting with weird teams and tactics to find ways around it?

That's when the game really gets interesting.

As soon as people stop using Doom to try to counter Chris G's Morriddoom ... they might start winning.

Doom vs Morrigan is one of the main reasons why Chris G wins so easily.

Seeing how the FGC has been acting in the las few weeks, it seems like they've lost their hunger for victory. They just seem to be playing for fun and not for actually beating Chris G. That's why they will still try to play their regular teams against Morrigan and not try something new.

I thought the experimental phase was when the game came out and everyone is trying out new ideas and seeing what works and what doesnt

And then they just stuck with what doesn't work. Everyone is sitting here playing the same teams that Chris G, Justin, and F Champ beat for free. What makes you think you have a chance when a guy playing pretty much the same team as you, but he's better, just lost? I don't get it.

Yes. NCR proved that to me. Now people have established teams they can always fall back on. Now they are going to try and find tactics/teams/strategies that counter specific things. Like Vergil and Morrigan. Hsien has proven to stop swords as an assist when she is gold, and well SenorTaxi had those angles with Chris and the jam session to stop soulfist. Good stuff. Can't wait to see more.

The core of Point/Doom/Vergil is amongst probably the strongest core in the game. Just sayin'

Until they come up against Morridoom. That's the point.

People need to start coming up with side teams to counter MorriDoom, since Doom isn't the answer.
