not really with the right moves and plenty of sparkle hunting the ranking is easy. you just have to be ON the boards. the hardest trophy in the game is No Fear of Heights.

EDIT:
3000 is easy you should get that doing the Ranking
Music you will get when you finish ranking as well

just remember ranking has no checkpoints or continues

also if you set the game on Easy then Ranking mode is automatically bumped up to Normal. also there is a Zombie in CH6 Ranking mode that you need for Zombie Fancier.

Matter if you get knocked off.

i dont think you can be knocked off but it does not matter if you can and do get bumped as long as you get ON the board for each level.

No Fear of Heights is hard, I admit. I raged endlessly through it. But I am having way more difficulty playing through ranking mode, even on normal. I am on level 2 and facing the same problem I did with the trophy for getting all the medals on the rooftop while chainsaw dashing. Making a tiny little mistake, the building falling on me, and having to start all over from the beginning. I have already rage-quit and I am trying to calm down. And I swear if someone comes on here and says its incredibly easy, I will find you and slap the crap outta you. Dying and having to start all over from the beginning of the level because of a tiny mistake is bullcrap. Makes me wonder how people just breezed through this... my ex to name just one.

I haven't done medal racer yet but have played through that stage twice and have yet to encounter the falling building. They really should have taken the instant deaths out of ranking mode, these levels are too long for that.

Yeah you can go to the left and avoid that falling building crap. But that is just a piece of the problem. Next you have to deal with Nick slowly running the bases while zombies beat him to death and the camera angles work seriously against you.

Don't matter what anyone says, Zombie Baseball is hard. The problem being when you auto-aim, Juliet will decide to shoot at zombies way across the screen from where Nick is. And while you are blasting away at that zombie, Nick is getting a baseball bat to the back of his head. And if you are shooting at zombies in some instances, Nick will be in the way and you will try to shoot through him but fail, while the zombies behind him are beating his brains out. Its about skill but also luck. Just praying Nick makes it around the bases without getting hit too much, praying for victory before that last zombie gets that last critical hit in and kills Nick.
