Equipment selection?

Do you get to pick equipment at any point or do you always start off with the same rifle/gun? (Picking up enemy weapon and having it carry over to the next level counts too, if possible)

Do you "unlock" better equipment as you go along or are there requirements for getting better rifles and such? (Or is it all there from the get go?)

It unlocks as you go along but you start with a small selection

Are the different equipment "tier" based, as in, this rifle is better than that rifle or is it more of a preference thing? All rifles are different at some things, but worse in others?

More of a preference but some have a better zoom , bolt action vs semi-automatic etc. Just like the real world counterparts.

Don't forget different muzzle velocity. I did and got killed for it when my round hit a concrete wall instead of the enemy sniper's face.

Is the load out available in the main story,or do I have to replay a mission to use it?
