Wii says unable to read disc

#1rockleeice2Posted 12/26/2011 7:14:13 PM

I started playing MW3 yesterday and as I continue to play I got a wii can't read the disc error I turned it off and started it back up and when I went into the disc channel it just shows a message disc is unable to be read. so what  I do know is about the disc cleaner and send it in but the problem is I live in Trinidad and Tobago and I cannot send in the the wii so what other fixes does it have except for disc cleaner, changing lens or opening the wii.

Did you try other game discs on the Wii as well?

Damn.. yeah, if that's the case, then most likely the only choice you have is to send it to Nintendo for repairs.

The disc cleaner might be used up quite a bit... How often do you play on your wii and how long is each session on average?

Is it possible for me to find out what to do without forking out a huge lot of money for shipping the nintendo>payment for the fixing of the wii) money to ship it back to me?

I'm not sure about shipping costs to and from Trinidad and Tobago, but if you can't send the Wii to Nintendo for repair you can replace the lens and laser yourself. Just do a Google search for Wii laser repair kit and you'll find a few for pretty cheap, and there are tons of how too's on Youttube that show how to repair it.

Why does everyone give this same question the same answer which is send it in, or open it or replace by your self or use the clening disc set but is there anytihng I can do with out opening it or purchasing anything because the tools to open it is very hard to find in Trinidad adn to ship it down it would not be before school begins and after that there is no point because I have to start study and can't play anymore.

Shoutout to T&T, all of my family originated from there. And you can always do homebrew and run the game from a usb, its pretty simple.

They give you the same answer because that is your only two options.

If you can't fix it yourself, you have to have someone else fix it. Your lens or drive is dead, someone who knows which it is should do the repair for you if you can't.
