ever since the announcement of the arkham city goty edition, i've been thinking about holding off and waiting for borderlands 2's goty edition. i don't play multiplayer, so it's not like i'd be missing out on active servers.

in my case, isn't it smart to just........... wait?? i mean, the goty is probably gonna hit shelves within less than a year of the originals' release. it's like there's no negative.

If you aren't going to play multiplayer, then yea, wait.

Have you tried playing multiplayer? Or do you not have Xbox Live? It's a lot of fun.

Uh why buy any single player game at launch. I never EVER buy single player games at launch.

But since I'm going to be playing this multiplayer it doesnt count I guess.

i "have" tried multiplayer, but it never tickled my funny bone. i enjoy playing this game at my own pace. as badly as i want to play it when it comes out, i just know, deep down inside that waiting is the best thing to do. it won't kill me anyway.

i think it makes sense and i kinda wish there were more people who were doing the same thing i did. it pisses me off when the fully packed edition comes out in half a year. it's like an insult to the people that bought it day 1.

Preorder bonus's run out 3-4 weeks after the games release, so you're gonna miss out on a ton of day 1 content.

And they've yet to announce any DLC as well as showcasing how big the vanilla game is gonna be. If, however, you're more suited to a 6 hour campaign filled with a free roam smaller than Spiderman 2, be my guest. Borderlands 2 isn't in your taste anyway.

whaaa? 6 hour campaign? where did THAT number come from? you can't be guessing at how long it'll take to beat the main storyline.

and goty editions usually include most of the dlc and pre-order bonuses anyway. if B2 doesn't included something that was "day 1 dlc", then it's probably insignificant anyway.

Main AC story takes 6 hours. The Catwoman story takes >4 hours to beat.

I beat it, it had a sadly short, but amazing campaign.

having it on day one?

I mean, sure, you can always wait for goty editions but those are never guaranteed. If you honestly would feel shafted that you paid 60 bucks for a game when they come out with a goty edition later you probably should wait.

Buying the game as early as you can get your hands on it and enjoying it is more than enough reason to buy day one.

Honestly don't get how people see all these as disincentives. You either enjoy the game enough to buy it launch day and then get DLC if you like, or later on the company releases a GOTY edition to add extra incentive for people who were on the fence originally and to give the game attention again.

It doesn't make your purchase any less meaningful to you if you like the game. Just because Apple WILL come out with another iPad doesn't make the one you purchased pointless. If you constantly wait for "the next best thing" you'll always be waiting.
