What do the 3 stats on weapons even indicate when you pick them up from boxes? And how come my gun's damage changes every time I level up. I'll go from shooting guys with my rail gun for 114 per shot then level up and only do 41 damage per shot.

^I thought that as well but then I'll level up again and I'll go from 41 to over 100 again. Then drop to 70 then up to 90 and so on. It's like the gun's stats change every time you level up.

Because, like in the "modern" Borderlands, each weapon is randomly generated and thus quality and rarity are always different?

I think its to make you change weapons every so often... Otherwise you'll get one good on and stick with it and it'll get boring sooner.

If I remember correctly, the Enemies level up with you somewhat.

Only up to a certain level in your first playthrough, up and over maximum level in the second playthrough.

The guns damage can go up as you level up, although more than likely you are better off finding a new weapon at your higher level, unless it's a rare, which aren't really the same as normal weapons in that they have set level limits already in place.

Although certain aspects of rare weapons can change too.

Pretty much get the highest level gun you can use for your current level everytime you level. Don't worry about rares too much until you are max level.

Although it's been quite a while since I've actually played Borderlands.

I'm asking about the 16 bit retro game they made. The gun damage changes every time you level up, sometimes going up and other times going down.
