Is there any other game where cheating is as common as in BL2?

I might as well post a source for the anger makes you happy thingy, but it's kind of obvious from all these people who go on the internet to be angry.

To answer your question TC, Pokemon.

They also get butthurt if you call it what it is, cheating, despite RNG abuse requiring a bloody computer with specialised programs to pull off. Some of them even deny pokegen being cheating, as "they make pokemon legal within the limits of the game"

Cheaters piss me off mildly, unless it's purely a single player game, but cheaters who actually convince themselves that they're not cheaters is a special kind of deluded Bellendery which I abhor. If you're gonna be a scumbag, be a scumbag, fine, but don't pretend you're anything else but.

Someone has teen angst and misdirected over proportioned anger.

Nope, Anger is healthy, it actually makes you happy, and cheaters are scumbags. And would people stop saying "it doesn't effect you", neither do Neo-Nazi's, but I hate the ass off of them.

Now I'm not comparing cheaters to Nazi's, I wouldn't insult Nazi's that bad (joking) And I suppose dupers aren't THAT bad, they just want the guns I suppose, but...
I find something wrong with people that use Bee + Conference Call, I dislike that kind of person, the way I dislike a Black Eyed Peas fan, or a Creationist. They're exactly the same as a BL1 Modder. They spend 60 Quid on a game about shooting and looting, and cut the looting part out by getting the metaphorical "Infinity +1 Sword". that's not the kind of person I like. They then go through their pplaythrough 2, 1 shotting everyone, not to advance the story, they've done the story, it's old news to them, not to do anything, just... Why? How sad is it that you play a game which has the appeal of always hoping for a better gun due to random gun generation, then cut that aspect out.

They turn Shoot and Loot into Shoot and Win. They're the pimple on the ass of the hand holding generation of gaming. "BUT WHAT IF I DIE I MIGHT FEEL SAAAD" "OMG PLEASE DON'T LET ME DIE" go play that Mario Wii game that completes levels for you you sad, sad person.

Rant over, all opinion of course, yadda yadda, I suppose duping level 50 is alright, I mean, once you've kiled terra and Verm a few times legit you're just grinding, but it's still cheating in every sense of the word.
And so what if Gearbox are okay with it? Gearbox is okay with cheating, but it's still cheating.

You just earned some respect from me after the Black Eyed Peas comment and Creationist.
I still completely disagree with you but the urge to troll is less.

if "cheating" just means doing something against the default rules, then bethesda games have waaaaay more "cheating" (on PC anyway) than BL2

Cheating in video game that is not competitive doesn't mean anything to me. And it doesn't mean anything to me if other people are doing it. I don't dupe, trade cash or whatever, etc It would ruin my experience playing the game if I had everything at a drop of a dime. But that's MY experience. As long as it doesn't affect me, then I'm golden. I play solo anyways.. Cheating in Borderlands is really no big deal. And it was way worse in BL1 anyways.

Regarding the practice of duping...I'm hosting a co op game, party kills a boss that drops a legendary gun that is extremely hard to get and everyone needs/wants the gun. I'm duping it and how exactly does that affect anyone else playing this game?

The value of items in the game are largely impacted by the rarity of them. If that boss dropped 4 of _____ every time he was killed, _____ would be much less impressive to have, and the feeling of accomplishment in finding one would be much smaller.

Every time you dupe ____, it makes it less important in a public sense when someone who happens to enjoy multiplayer, finds ____ legitimately.

This is basic, common sense. It's why any game with officially endorsed cheat codes, of the contra variety, largely disables them in any multiplayer capacity.

Do what you want in single player. When you cheat, exploit, and otherwise circumvent the designer's game design intention, in a multiplayer format, you're ruining the game experience for some of the other players that wanted a legitimate, long-lasting multiplayer experience.

Lol @ all the contrived delusions and developer-hearsay people are attempting to invent, to feel like less of a jackass for short-circuiting the game's entertainment value for other people, with cheats and exploits.

Modern Warfare 2, within the first week 40% of players online had auto fire controllers, and aim mods.
I emphasize online because there are a lot of people that play the game and in reality it is probably like 5% overall.

Um, is BL2 the very first game you've ever played? Cheating/duping is prominent in just about every game. Much less to be honest as all you can do really is dupe and powerlevel.
