Can DLC1 weapons be traded to people without the DLC?

There's a new Assault Rifle that is obtained from a quest, and it has a blade attachment that does 200% extra melee damage (compared to Law's 100%). Can it be traded / duped for people without the expansion? Because I'm pretty sure every Zer0 player worth their salt is gonna want one.

The SAFE was slain in battle. A great flaming nautical pyre carries it off to VAULTHALLA.

Doubtful. I know with the addons for the first one weapons like that weren't available to non-DLC players.

You can't equip the new items without the DLC, but you can pick them up.

You dont want that rifle anyway,
It has a hidden negatie effect that causes you to lose health upon landing a melee attack.
Several of the items from the dlc had "curses" such as that.

Thanks gearbox.

Is it enough health to matter, I mean are you losing 20% a hit or is it pretty minor.

Unsure.
Im playing a zero myself,
And upon finding this gun I was thrilled until I looked into the "curse text"

If you spec into Resurgence and Innervate, it might counteract the health loss, and hopefully still result in gain.
But I was too mad at the situation to test.

100 more melee percentage doesnt justify respeccing.
The gun itself had mediocre stats :/

I'm using the shotgun and it only takes like a hundred or so from the my shield or health depending if shields depleted, Barely notice it.
