Randy Pitchford on The Bee nerfs

#31A_FlareonPosted 11/14/2012 8:13:11 AM
It's like people don't realise that single player games get patched for having glitches/bugs and in this case oversights such as how the Bee worked. A game doesn't have to be competitive in any way, shape, or form to get patched for something like this. Remember Skyrim and the multiplicative potion oversight? I do.

I'm not even remotely surprised to see the amount of people complaining that their crutches were taken away from them as without it, they feel as if the game has suddenly died.

Honestly, to most of you Bee users: did you really think it was working as intended considering that raid bosses are designed for 4 players in mind yet they're dying in 10 seconds (or less). I'm pretty sure that was not the way they wanted them to be designed.

so what did they do to nerf it?

-Tediore reloads don't benefit from amp damage
-Amp damage equally spread out on all pellets that fire from a gun (shotgun balance)
-Overall numbers being lowered

Nerfs happen because someone, somewhere, found a way to break the game in an unintended way and then they told everyone about, and then everyone starts doing it, and then it becomes the only thing anybody ever does.
The only weapons, the only defenses, the only characters, the only builds. The developers want people to play the game, not go to a forum site to find a way to get technical "god mode." Obviously the Bee was no longer working as intended so it needed a nerf, the only ones crying now are the power gamers who want to be the best without trying and lord it over anyone who doesn't play that way.
If you broke something, you only have yourself to blame for the nerf.
ONLY you, not the game developers.

@BehemothKnight design team likes drop rates - it's a better drop rate than real life

Now, this is just stupid.

So let me ask you a question. If everyone said OMG the bee is awesome I love it it makes this game even better and nobody complained. Do you think they still would of patched?
No because they just want people to play and buy their stuff and they don't patch unless they think people aren't going to do that

That's stupid. People already bought their game, people who already have the game already made up their mind on whether or not they're going to get the new DLC, and new players won't look at every single weapon/item statistic to determine whether or not the game is deemed worthy to buy.

I don't know about anyone else, but I only use the bee shield when I'm farming. Since I have to try over & over again, the shield makes it a lot easier. I normally don't use it otherwise. My go to shield in the black hole.

I have Dysarthria. It's a Speech problem. Your question is answered now.

You could grind offline without patching your game.

Is the amp drain still 0 though?
