So, wait a sec... if Jack is the CEO of Hyperion... and Hyperion operates New-U

Very counterproductive business strategy, if you ask me.

1. Become CEO of Hyperion
2. Entice Vault Hunter with Bee shield
3. Break the fourth wall
4. Make multiple accounts complaining about Bee
5. Gearbox nerfs
6. Lots of gamers die because they depended on the shield instead of skill
7. Profit because thats what CEOs do

Because its a public service, in which you can not discriminate against your customers.

Makes things a little bit darker in my opinion.

Gearbox has basically said it's because the New-U is just a gameplay mechanic seperate from the plot. That's why it doesn't work for characters killed in the story either.

Heard this the FIRST time I ever respawned in Borderlands 2:

"Hyperion suggests that you do not think about the fact that this is only a digital reconstruction of your original body, which died the first time you respawned. Do NOT think about this!"

... The New-U system is awesome, but also very ****ed up.

Apparently, all the bosses, bandits, and creatures on Pandora are linked to the New-U as well. Otherwise, we'd be running around empty, creatureless maps with nothing to shoot.

In a way, this is what hell, or heaven, based on your perspective, must be like. Trapped in an endless loop doing the same thing over and over again without being able to die...

Do not question the New-U systems or else you can forget about farming for those rare items.

You have the same disease that they have in the Walking Dead. When you die you just come back. The NPCs that don't are immune, or they got their eyeball scoop out, or Jack laughed while their head exploded.

Wasn't the explanation in one of the cut dialogues? Somewhere in these, Jack's laughing at the fact that every time you die, you're paying him a king's ransom or something.

Plus, Angel greened your pass in the New-Us in this game. Someone said that after a certain spoilerific point, Jack himself allows you to use it just so he have the pleasure to shut you down himself. Multiple times if possible. For the reason above, and also because it just gives him the kicks.

Guy's no better than Captain Flynt in that aspect :P
