Literally just got this game, isn't even out of the plastic yet and was just wondering if there are any tips for this game someone like me should know. I never played the 1st one so I am not up to date on any of the lingo this game has but any tips or advice such as class selection or anything in general would be appreciated. Thanks

Once you get to True Vault Hunter Mode, if you want the quest rewards to scale up to level 50 (The current max level) don't accept them until you beat the final boss on TVHM. Then go back and do the quests you want for the unique rewards such as Law and Order, Love Thumper etc.

If you accept them before you finish TVHM they will be locked at around level 30-40 and have reduced stats to what they could be.

Some suggestions to save for level 50 scalable:
Law
Order
Miss Moxie's Heartbreaker
Rubi
Buffalo
Trespasser
Flame of The Firehawk
Love Thumper
The "Clan Wars" Quest

Scarlet DLC:
Pimpernel
Greed (not sure if you can fight the boss who drops it after the 2nd time it let's you do the quest)

Torgue DLC:
Haven't finished all the optional quests yet but so far haven't seen anything amazing you could miss out on. Still need to finish the quest for the boom puppy though to see how that is.

Those are the only ones that immediately jumped into my head, others might be able to suggest some others to save for level 50

Already mentioned but on true vault hunter mode (newgame+) don't accept any quest rewards with a rarity of blue or higher until after you beaten the final boss.

Other then that the game's pretty straight forward.

Try the soldier if youre playing singleplayer, he gets a turret ally he can bring out to help kill things.

If you like stabbing things, try the skinny zer0 guy.

Just open everything and have fun, don't worry about dying too much. Sometimes the color coded loot doesn't really tell its value. Sometimes a green relic is just as good if not better than a purple one.

Just play the game and enjoy it. Don't worry about the loot and find your niche.

Play the game by yourself 1rst. Pick a class and give it a shot. Don't worry too much about what skills you are choosing you can always change later what you are respeccing.

Reccomend you do your 1rst PT1 being thorough meaning do all you sidequests including all DLC . The reason being it will make you explore and get your achievements if interested plus you will learn a great deal how to play your character. Plus level you up. Once start your TVHM (second PT) leave all sidequests alone if at all possible that give out item/gear rewards. Simply because if accepted and/or completed before TVHM MS is completed you will not be guaranteed level rewards.

Play cautiously in beginning. Grind some levels and get your classes primary ability. So grind some of those weak enemies to get this at level 50. Check vending machines and loot everything. Even though this game is not fantastic on loot reward system always be on look out for something that is better.

Having correct elemental weapons especially corrosive and fire is needed as you learn enemies resistances so carry one of each. pretty good idea to carry rocket launcer in one weapon slot as soon as you get one. They are invaluable for saving you in fight for life.

Have fun.

Here's a tip. This game is very glitchy. Badly glitchy. The kinds of glitches that might upset your day. Keep that in mind when you are playing so if you do come across these glitches, you've been warned. Good news is there is a patch intended to fix all of this hovering in the aether but has yet to be released. Maybe for you it won't be a long wait like the 3 months us other SOBs have been waiting.
