I've done my own testing. I did it with BA bonuses disabled and skills reset. My testing was done with Axton and a Legendary Soldier Class Mod that granted +29% Gun Damage. Testing was done with the Target Practice at the gun range in Marcus' shop. Multiple shots were fired from the each gun with no difference in damage. The results are startling.
Emperor w/o bonus damage: 8438 Emperor w/ bonus damage: 10885 Percentage added damage = 10885/8438 - 1 = 28.9998% (This is about the same as 29%, which is stated on the class mod)
Skullmasher test done with all 5 bullets from each shot hitting the target.
Conclusion: There is no discrimination of gun class. As long as your gun has a X* on the weapon display card, all bonus percentage-based damage will be divided by the number shown then applied each time the weapon is fired.
Now, does THAT help explain the problem here?
The problem in this topic is the Youtube video. The user tries to purposely mislead people into thinking the patch messed up skill trees. When this is not the case. You've posted an example of what damage modification effects. It has nothing at all to do with skill tree's. It's a single issue effecting guns with a #x modifier. I've said this multiple times already.
The youtube video and your opening post is trying to make it appear that lot of different things were affected by the patch. --- Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.
It's already been recognized as a problem by the developers. It will be patched. Either way, it was still worth it to have the bee nerfed.
Can you tell me where they've said this? I've seen nothing to indicate that they have acknowledged the problem.
Here's a link to all the things affected, along with tests so you can see just how wide spread this problem is.
I just want the game to be in proper working order is all.
If I pick up two guns and one of them says 500 x 10 damage and the other gun says that it does 4000 damage, the one that says 500 x 10 has the green arrow up, indicating that it's more powerful than the 4000 damage one, but use it in battle and you'll discover otherwise.
If you use it in battle the gun that does 500x10 WILL DO 5000 damage which is more than 4000. God you don't even understand the issue that you're trying to cram down everyones throat.
The issue is that most if not all damage boosting items & skills are now DIVIDED between all pellets in a x# modifier gun. This significantly reduces the DAMAGE INCREASE of said weapon, not the base damage itself. --- Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.
"Some of you like broken games - I get it" lolRandyPitchford. Can't wait to see him eat those words. Or maybe he wasn't being a condescending d-bag and actually meant it, as in "Some of you like broken games - I get it...THAT MEANS YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS NEXT PATCH!" --- http://i.minus.com/iCegNWUSUXFes.gif http://i.minus.com/ibtFz1bwSGUKlw.gif
