Jesus, Where Angels Fear to Tread is an obscenely long, difficult mission

#1CoolBeansAvlPosted 1/12/2013 1:15:13 PM
Just knocked it out in one sitting with a team of 4, but man that still had to have taken 2 hours. From entering Hyperion where a Badass Constructor 2 sits on the high ground, then fighting Bunker, and then freeing Angel, jesus, it's just nonstop Loaders from beginning to end.

Conversely, Where Angels Fear to Tread Part 2 is an obscenely short, easy mission with not a single Loader. They couldn't have shifted the balance a little bit there? >_>

Yeah, could have used more constructors though.

Nah, The Talon of a God isn't too bad. There's a lot of enemies yeah (though still not as many as WAFTT) but I feel like the terrain there gives you more advantageous positioning.

I always thought that should have been the end of the game. It was where the story climaxed, the rest of the game just felt kind blah. Especially with eiridium blight (highlands 2.0, which no one wanted at that point in the game, people were ready to finish it) and sawtooth being fairly annoying maps. Also the badlands really didnt need to be 2 maps long.

I could agree with that. The pacing really slows down with the missions between this point and The Talon. There's nothing really memorable about them imo, other than you have the option to fight Saturn at this point.

The end of Where Angels is pretty great, a shocking moment, but it loses a lot of its steam and impact due to the quest or two before the last quest.

That quest bothered me not because of the enemy numbers, but because the quest is nothing more than ring around the rosie. You go through a lengthy and often difficult ordeal, just to reach the end and be told you must now go to the opposite side of Pandora and do the same thing again. You didn't get to feel good about it, just annoyed you went through hell just to be told you have to get back out. Rinse, repeate about 4 times and thats it. The layout was infuriating and that was the worst part. Redundancy.
