character corrupt?

I havent played bl2 for about a week and half. I load the game up and it says last character saved is corrupt start over or switch. i did erase 2 compatibility patches after the latest one came out. what happened?

Forrest Gump would say, sh*t happens.

Ive lost a character as well, so i know how it feels. Wont happen again, cause i keep regular backups of those files now.

how do u back up a character? i thought u can only have 1 character of each type.

USB stick. Copy the save over.
