My advice is just to play all the side missions in the first playthrough then you will Max out before the end of the second one

The best advice is to enjoy! On PT1, feel free to do side missions. They net valuable XP and often have good rewards in terms of gear. However, on TVHM (PT2), avoid side missions with a blue reward or higher until you've completed TVHM and attained level 50, because once you accept the mission the reward will be locked at your current level, and you will not be able to go back and redo the mission for the desired level 50 weapon or other gear.

Others probably have more detailed and perhaps better advice. Happy looting!

This plus some more why you want to do a complete run through on PT1 than primarily MS on TVHM mode (PT2).

It will net you a geat deal of achievement. Kind make you explore everything and learn the maps and to small degree the side missions. Thus if you decide to play co-op you at least have some knowledge of the maps and games making co-op much more fun because you will have a general idea what to do.

Don't worry about the best gear, rare loot, the proper set-up for each character, etc. Every gamer has their own preference for playstyle and equipment. The game never really opens up until late in the game, even on your next playthrough, so have fun. Experiment and toy around.

And remember that half the fun is discovery. Finding that rare piece of loot on your own may be far more rewarding than asking someone to dupe / give it to you and going to town with it. My melee Zero has crap gear, but I'm having a blast working with what I have, and finding a cool piece of loot from time to time.

Lastly, get used to looting pistols from level 5 thru 20. That's pretty much all you'll see. ;)

Here's what you should do:

Play for 5-10 levels, give up and post a "LF power level" thread, then follow up with a "LF dups of orengrs plz" thread. Then spend a few hours mindlessly shooting low level enemies, get bored, and trade it in for Just Dance 25 or CoD: 2013 edition.

Alternatively, burn the money you were gonna spend on it.

In other words, power-leveling / LF = any and all difficulty has been thrown out the window.

Have fun and take your time in the first playthrough.

Save the powerleveling for when you get frustrated at the difficulty, or after you've already beaten the story.

BTW, did you play BL1? It's not required, but it's definitely worth getting at some point if you haven't (you can get the GOTY edition, with all the DLC, for really cheap).
