Would you like to have a pet in the next Borderlands?

Did anyone here ever play Phantasy Star Online? It had little robots called mags that floated over your character's shoulder and you had to feed it items. Different items would make it buff different stats and as it grew stronger it changed from a dull gray oval to countless crazy and colorful variations.

It'd be neat if they had something like that. A little pet thresher, robot or rakk that followed you around and leveled up with you. They could have their own respecable skill trees with passive buffs, active skills would need their own button to be activated and might be buggy, and add another layer of strategy by choosing which character goes best with which pet.

Though frankly I just like the idea because of PSO nostalgia. The big reason I love this game is because it's the bastard child of fallout and phantasy star.

This sounds good for a game, just not Borderlands. Something with Borderlands-style gameplay plus what you said might be good, but I wouldn't want it to be the next Borderlands game. That's a huge game-changer.

Not a bad idea, as long as your companion isn't as beast as Boone.

No thanks, I'm a lone warrior.....if I see you walking your pet skag, I will shoot it!

While it's not a terrible concept, I don't really feel it fits with Borderlands. Pets should be limited as the action ability of a character, like Bloodwing or Deathtrap.

I hated that i never managed to get enough materials to fully level up my Mag...But it's really good to hear that someone else has played that amazing game. That's a very good version of what i would like to see if it could be made possible.
