Ok, slightly confused as I already have a Data Transfer Cable from a previous xbox that had RROD.

I was under the impression that these cables are a 'use only once' thing? The cable I have was used to transfer data between two old style hard drives.

So do I need a new cable with different attachments to allow the transfer between the slim HD and the old HD?

What model xbox just now quit on you?

The old version. It was a special Halo ODST console

Oohhh. If it was the special edition body, you should seriously consider selling it on ebay. People will pay for that. You can at least get some of your money back. Just make sure you say it had rrod.

Yes. That seems to be the same product. You just plug in your old HD and let it run. It was pretty straight forward. Good luck, hope it's an easy process for you.

You could have fixed that rrod at some repair shop. Rrod are ez to fix now. I think my xbox survived 15 rrods before it gave out

I used the old style hdd in my slim Xbox. Takes all of 1 min to remove from the old hdd case and put into the new Xbox. All it is is a laptop drivein a ridiculous proprietary caddy

I agree, just open your old HDD case and pop the hd out. You can either put it directly in the Xbox or buy a clasp shell for, idk 5 bucks on amazon?

Also I agree, fix your old system.
