By current estimations/mathings on the Gearbox forums, the damage of Level 60 guns will be about Triple that of their Level 50 counterparts. Nukem will be hitting around 1m on it's weapon card for example. Level 61 will be, of course, higher then that.

I guess it will all be relative though. Yeah the stats will look great, but if it takes 3 shots to ghost a badass (level 50) with a level 50 weapon, it will take 3 shots to kill a level 61 badass with a level 61 weapon. Still, that Nuke sounds awesome !

Honestly, I don't think there's really an issue with weapons scaling exponentially like they do. Well, there is a little issue with it (enemies scale faster than players), but I think the biggest "balance" issue is going to be the disparity between White guns and Purple guns will be huge.
A white lvl50 Dahl repeater deals about 5000 damage. A purple one with all the same parts (that can be the same, materials are going to change) deals about 8400 damage. That's a 3400 damage difference. If the difference between guns stays the same as these levels, the difference at level 61 with those guns will be over 10000 damage. (they'd be at about 15000 and 25000 assuming calculations were correct). That's a very big difference in damage, especially if you factor in crits and damage bonuses.
