Should I start ultimate vault hunter before or after I reach the new max?

Well with true vault hunter mode I was told to wait until you get to 50 to ensure you get all the max level loot from side quests... Is that not the case with this?

you can reset your quest progress and play through again. im planning on doing a playthrough with sidequests to get to 61, and then another playthrough at 61 to get maxed quest rewards
