If you're just starting just go with whatever floats your boat. You can respec your tree's at any time you want. So try getting a feel for what suits your Playstyle

My buddy who plays a siren totes that cataclysm is where it's at.

Uh, I dunno. The one that looks the coolest to you?

In Normal mode, the Cataclysm tree is pretty impressive, but as you level most of the skills become mediocre to useless with the exceptions of Reaper and Ruin. The Harmony tree is all over the place. Wreck is a really good skill; Sweet Release, Res and Scorn are helpful in team play; the rest of the skills are mostly useless or bugged. Motion has the least amount of crappy skills, but you really need to pair it with stuff from either Harmony or Ruin to benefit from it.

General advice would be to focus on Cataclysm simply because Reaper and Ruin are amazing skills, and once you've filled it start putting points into Motion (solo) or Harmony if you want to play support. (Or just want Wreck, heh.)

What everyone needs to do is calm down, take a deep breath, and prepare their bodies for the Thunderdome.

For UVHM, you definitely wanna focus on her right skill tree, for the Ruin skill. That skill is invaluable!

I have Dysarthria. It's a Speech problem. Cause of that, I rarely use my mic...rarely.

Cataclysm will help your DPS a lot for the first two playthroughs. You'll also want Converge from Motion. This is what I recommend for leveling up to 50.

If you need a little extra help staying out of FFYL put the one point into Sweet Release whenever you feel you'll need it. Otherwise start by going down Cataclysm. 5 Foresight, 5 Helios, 1 Cloud Kill, 4 Chain Reaction, 5 Reaper. Go back and put 1 in chain reaction and 4 into Immolate (or flicker if you prefer). Finally ruin. Then go down Motion for Converge.

For UVHM you really only have two options.

This one with a Legendary mod and shotguns:

This one with a cat mod and SMGs:

You can move one point from sweet release into Res if you're playing co-op.

I particularly like the Ruin/Anything combo. Free Slag is invaluable on UVHM

Ruin is called Ruin for a reason:

It Ruins everything.

Admiral Hackett: "Commander, are you ready to bring the might of the galaxy to bear on the Reapers?"
Commander Shepard: "Yes sir."
