Which do you prefer? A shield with high capacity that lowers your HP, or...

my preference is usually shields that add health, but it comes down to what character you are on and what your build is.

some skills benefit one over the other.

Turtle shields would actually be useful if their capacity listed is what received bonuses correctly from shield buffs.

But they don't. Also they have slow as molasses recharge speeds, which IMO is useless on higher difficulties when your shield goes down in a few shots anyway

Purple Tediore shields > all.
Capacity doesn't really matter in UVHM. Haha, 1-2 hits and it's gone.

Edit: butttt... I do like the evolution on my siren. And the hoplite is nice while tubby/Verm farming.

I use roid shields, but the Hoplite and Neo/Evo both have their uses.

I generally use Turtles and ultimately the Hoplite with my Mechromancer to maximize the effectiveness of Blood Soaked Shields and keep me in close quarters combat.

Against most raid bosses your shields defensive stats and your absolute HP are pretty much worthless so I allways go for additional effects.
