And after Hellborn is done, what's the best skills to grab?
I'm liking this idea: http://www.bl2skills.com/psycho.html#00000000000000000000000055550100151
Which is what most of you are suggesting, from what I can see, but thoughts on the other trees would be helpful. First time I've ever had issues with a character. Krieg's skills are so... weird.
Ya, elemental elation isn't that great when you consider the other bonuses that Krieg's hellborn tree can give you. Let me direct you towards my favorite shotgun to use with hellborn, the HeartBreaker. You get it from the Safe and Sound mission from Marcus in Sanctuary, once you finish the quest turn it into Moxxi to get the shotgun. This gun heals you because it's a Moxxi gun (when you consider this and that fact that being on fire heals you, you can pretty much be invulnerable with the damage reduction from being on fire and the fire constantly keeps down your shield for roid damage bonuses), does great damage with Krieg's fire bonuses (guaranteed to spawn with fire) and is just a great gun all around.

I must be one of the very few dudes who takes Flame Flare...I take 3/5 in it and have never had a problem =/
As for ones to skip, I'd skip Hellfire Halitosis. Yeah it's cool to breath fire and all, but it's not that strong, and you'd be amazed what 1 point somewhere else can do for ya. I'm also on the fence on which of the two first tier perks to skip (though I lean more towards skipping Fuel the Fire), but I think you should skip one of them.
This is all, of course, my opinion. You really should just experiment with different things...that's how I came to the (apparently bad?) decision to have 3/5 in Flame Flare.
EDIT: I also personally skip Numbed Nerves. The reduction is not really as much as you'd think, and I think you can spend the points in better places.
As a geologist, I find that any world history book that doesn't start 4.5 billion years ago is full of crap.
Flame Flare is bugged as f*** right now (it randomly causes your fire DoT to hyperstack and insta-kill you), the people telling you to skip it are right. Hellfire Halitosis is also.... questionable, as the skill's visual effect can get stuck to your screen, obscuring your aim.
Dayuum, maybe thats partly why my Krieg feels so squishy. I have 5 in Flame Flare with a class mod that even put more points into it, eek.
