Just starting to get into Borderlands a bit more seriously.
Im currently maxed out on the survival and guerilla skill trees with two more points used in gunpowder as my legendary class mod boosts impact and expertise to 7/5 each.
Gun wise im running with : Consumate Florentine 27433 (dealing slag and elec) Casual Swordsplosion 101331x3 (+500% wep dmg) Skookum Skullmasher 40573x4 Hefty Plasma Cutter 26762 ( 13k corrosive dmg and its tediore so explodes)
Adaptive shield 167k capacity +49k health (purple) Magic missile 188kx2 (slag) Vitality reilic +46% health (also have a seraph one that does like 39% health and 50% assault rifle ammo) Legendary soldier class mod (also have the terra one too)
Sorry TC. I'd help but I'm also pretty casual, at least for this game. You'd probably do well to look at the Borderlands wiki. There are user submitted character builds on there. Not sure if it'd help you on weapons unless you scoured the database for all the rarest weapons but it's a start.
"I am death come for thee! Surrender and thy passage shall be . . . quicker."
It looks like you have respectable gear already. You can look on the boards or other sites for exact point distributions for specific builds, but the main builds I have seen are:
Rough rider - uses the Rough Rider shield to take advantage of "low shield" type abilities (e.g, crisis management) Turrets - focuses on turret abilities to distract and destroy enemies (Double up, Gemini, scorched earth, etc.) High shields - focuses on Axton's shield and health abilities to survive and wear enemies down. EXPLOSIONS!? - glass cannon build, increases to "grenade damage" also increase explosive splash damage. Axton has a lot of skills in the gunpowder tree that boost both weapon damage and grenade damage. (Works well with Kerblaster, Swordsplosion, or the new Ogre)
As a casual Axton player myself, I ran and explosives build through all of TVHM and most of UVHM, but have recently switched to a high survivability build for, well, survivability.
