Golden Keys and a read only profile

There has been mention of setting a file to read only to keep your gold key. What is that file?

Everyone has just said the bin file, but what is the full path?

I would also like to know which file it is (steamapps/ common/ borderlands 2/ ?).

in the Borderlands 2 folder, it's under DLC in the Premium club folder. Open willow game.ini in notepad. You can set the file to read only or you can edit the number of Golden Keys you have up to 255.

Yeah that has been patched out. Someone is speaking of profile.bin

I've found one here:

C:\Users\Aamph\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData\76561198071581762\profile.bin

Just wondering if this is the proper file. Can anyone with a lot of keys confirm. I only have 1

That is it. Tested it out a few minutes ago, the keys do indeed reset when you restart the game.

Why people would want to exploit is beyond me. Take the fun out of finding rare guns. Seeing as how that's a big focus of the game/

You're right. We should all only be able to enjoy games however you see fit. Any other things we should or shouldn't do to be able to properly enjoy the games we bought?
