Game won't start

#1somorexPosted 10/17/2012 5:15:53 AM
Every time I try to start the game the computer blue screens and then restarts. So this is what happens when you pay $60 for a game, you get screwed over? and they wonder why people pirate games? This is the only game that does it, so I don't see how it could be a video card problem. This is why pc gaming sucks.

Computer specs? What other games have you tried?

Blue screening shouldn't be a steam/borderlands problem, it should be something deeper.

AMD FX 8150, XFX 7970 Black Edition, 16gb ram, I can run Skyrim, Crysis 2, Gotham City Imposters, Mafia 2, Mass Effect 3 2 and 1, Dead Space 1 and 2, Borderlands 1, Bulletstorm, these all work fine.

i can be wrong, but most of the time i am having bluescreens, it because of my hardware malfunctioning. you should properly read the text that appears in bluescreens, they gve you a clue what causing it. dont just blame it to the game. post a photo of your bluescreens here, IT expert around here will help you determine the cause.

update your graphics drivers?

at what point is it crashing exactly? At the launcher or when you actually try to start a game?

what is the blue screen code? could be some faulty ram if youre sure its not your vid card

and set the computer to not auto restart when having errors so you can calmly read what the bluescreens saying to you. you should be able to do that much

Could this be a PhysX setting that got borked somewhere along the line?

If you're convinced it is the game, could just try verifying the integrity through steam (if you haven't already). If something got corrupted that would fix it.
