So did Disgaea 4's infinite item general kills carry over to this?

Or is it back to just double-kills?

Why are people asking about like end end game stuff day 2 into release? If you're wondering why few people are answering end game questions like this, is because MOST PEOPLE HAVEN'T BEATEN THE GAME YET!

Play the game, and when you need to know, others will have an answer. You dont' want to take a crappy item down to floor 100 because it's a waste of time. So you really can't figure that out until you have like a rank 38-40 item unless you want to waste time figuring it out for the lulz.

I see a lot of people asking like way way way end game questions. Can't people wait a week or until they get to that point where it matters to find out? Mattaku

You should notice a difference with any item. All it takes is three Gency's used on the 10th Floor. Which is my priority to check when I get off work soon. Ideally, anyway.

Just reposting from the other topic:

Well, Item Generals are definitely +1 Level. Just did a quick run on a Dark Rosary to Floor 10 and killed the Item General -> Gency and ended with a Level 10 item. Repeated this again and got a Level 11 item and then a Level 12 item. This also would mean that you do not need a floor clear to trigger in order for the kills to count so, theoretically, infinite Item Boss killing is in.

Just a quick test:

Dark Rosary:
Base HP - 36
Base All - 18

Level 12 Stats (in-game):
HP - 130
All - 71

Level 12 Stats (calculated):

HP:
[B * (R + s * (C + N)) + I] * [1 + TBP/20] * [1 + L / 15] + [L * s]
[36 * (1.5 + 1 * (0.3 + 0) + 0] * [1 + 0/20] * [1 + 12/15] + [12 * 1]
[36 * (1.8)] * [1] * [1.8] + [12]
= 128.64 => 128

[B * (R + s * (C + N)) + I] * [1 + TBP/20] * [1 + L / 15] + [L * s]
[18 * (1.5 + 1 * (0.3 + 0) + 0] * [1 + 0/20] * [1 + 12/15] + [12 * 1]
[18 * (1.8)] * [1] * [1.8] + 12
= 70.32 => 70

...which, unfortunately, means we're slightly off. Granted, it's a low level item but the formula shouldn't change. Likewise, the value with some Innocents in the item is off as well (actual is 87 and I calculate out to 86). I guess I'll look into it some more with later items.

Just as an estimation, it seems to be counting the kills as if they had a single More Stat bill passed. The numbers all work out assuming that N = 0.03.

In the Original D3 it was 250, and since there haven't been any changes to the Item world system in that regard, It's pretty safe to assume it's still 250.

I'm not sure why we would assume that considering three changes to the item world already (item appearance bill, bosses granting levels, and infinite-boss kills). At this point I'm not even going to assume +100% or 255% aptitude caps.

Just to note, I don't actually know if boss kills are technically infinite yet. I mean, yes, they now no longer need a floor clear to trigger* but they could still limit it somehow. I assume they gave the Item General/King/God +1/+2/+3 levels to match the Item Route bonus from Disgaea 4 (which would mean +30 Levels from double killing them all, just like D4's full Item Route bonus) but they could just put a cap on the Boss Kill counter.

Anyway, I stupided and forgot to write down the Level 10 stats so here's some numbers:

Edit: I'm even dumber than I thought. I made a save with a Level 10 item.

Level 0 Dark Rosary:
HP - 36
All - 18

Level 10 (1 Item General kill):
HP - 106
All - 58

Level 11 (2 Item General kills):
HP - 118
All - 64

Level 12 (3 Item General kills):
HP - 130
All - 71

Level 13 (4 Item General kills):
HP - 145
All - 78

Level 14 (5 Item General kills):
HP - 159
All - 85

Level 15 (5 Item General kills, floor 10 cleared):
HP - 165
All - 89

Level 16 (6 Item General kills, floor 10 cleared):
HP - 179
All - 96

So ... something's not quite right about the formula. I'll just try again later with bigger values to try and eliminate awkward rounding issues.

*Well, they still do because the Item Bosses give a level which is what allows this to work.

I guess you're right, there's just not a whole lot of information available until people start getting there.

Well, it seems like the changed part of the formula is on the Item Boss counter itself. Just some testing without any item boss kills is putting me where I'm anticipating (though, if anyone has any no-Item Boss kill data available of any item at any level, I'd love to hear it so I can double-check).

Basically, reversing the formula is getting me something peculiar. Let's use this example:

Base Stats:
42 SP, 196 ATK, 196 HIT

Level 10, 1 General Kill:
88 SP, 381 ATK, 381 HIT

So our formula:
[B * (R + s * (C + N)) + I] * [1 + TBP/20] * [1 + L / 15] + [L * s]
[42 * (1 + 1 * (X)) + 0] * [1 + 0/20] * [1 + 10 / 15] + [10 * 1] = 88
[42 * (1 + X)] * [1] * [1.667] + 10 = 88
[42 * (1 + X) ] * [1.667] = 78
(1 + X) = 1.114
X = .114 [Expected: .100]

[B * (R + s * (C + N)) + I] * [1 + TBP/20] * [1 + L / 15] + [L * s]
[196 * (1 + 1 * (X)) + 0] * [1 + 0/20] * [1 + 10 / 15] + [10 * 1] = 381
[196 * (1 + X)] * [1] * [1.667] + 10 = 381
[196 * (1 + X) ] * [1.667] = 371
(1 + X) = 1.135
X = .135 [Expected: .100]

Again, rounding is a possibility but, as far as I remember, Disgaea rounds final steps and it's always a truncation. I guess I just need better things to test with and make sure I actually get better data points (notably, Level 9, Level 10 no Item Boss kill, Level 10 with an Item Boss kill).

If all else fails, I can try maxing out an item eventually and working from a maxed formula ... but that would be awhile from now and I'd rather get this done sooner than later.
