1) I never said it shouldn't be allowed, I said it wasn't intended.

2) That's only in the Vita version, where they intentionally left it in.

The existence of a bug that could have easily been fixed BEFORE they added a weapon that grants 6.4 billion HP. It's a hard sell, I hope you realize.

I don't think it was an oversight. The PPS is only available as an end post-game reward. If they intended it to do nothing, it would have been available before you complete all content.

it is not only available as an end-game reward. the captain of the Kit Kat Pirates on floors 82+ carries one. and in a very rare mystery room is a prinny with a construction hat and 3 chests. open one and you may get it but chances are very low.

It really isn't though. D3 PS3 was pretty halfassed in general between ****ing up the Attack command, ****ing up magic, ****ing up the damage formula as a whole, and Magichange. Oh, and PS1 quality sprites in a game with HD menus and portraits. It's pretty reasonable that it happened to begin with because, well, NIS screws gameplay stuff up all tiem time. And when someone figured out duping NIS thought it was a neat trick and left it in, since like I mentioned before, it's hardly the first time they slipped up and left something in.

Also, on a technically unrelated note: I'm pretty sure the mana cost to unlock every single unit in D2 is almost as much as it takes to pass one of the bills for the units you got for, say, unlocking a level 15 unit. And some of those unlocks are just by playing the game in a way that shows you'd find that job useful, and not just leveling two units who likely have nothing to do with that unit up.

They could have fixed it. They chose not to. See "Ascended Glitch" in my previous post, maybe look it up on TVTropes. See also double killing item world bosses, 19998 as the caps on stat innocents, and diagonal throwing.

If it wasn't intended to steal magichange weapons, why is the Baal Axe on the item collection list? The "reset" is specific coding to prevent IW diving.

You misunderstand.

I'm not saying it was unintentional in Disgaea 3 Vita. I'm saying it was unintentional in Disgaea 3 PS3. Disgaea 3 PS3 doesn't have a collection list.

it never ceases to amaze me . With a 10,000,000,000 damage trophy , every broken feature must be a bug.
grungolahPosted 6/27/2012 4:46:38 PM
They accidentally added humans to the Baal fight, and programmed the huge demons to magichange into an ugly red stick no one was ever meant to own. How do these programmers find their feet in the morning?
BirgitteSilverPosted 6/27/2012 6:12:31 PM
You are re-writing history to suit your beliefs.

They did that _long_ after it was known the PPS worked on Magichange weapons, and they decided they liked it.

In no way does that mean that's the way they originally intended it to work, in spite of your sarcasm.
CorkadilePosted 6/27/2012 6:40:41 PM
It's also not the point for you to steal it. It's not like the enemy's stats go to 1 when they get it, they're massive. That's the point. Take into account Baal's, and therefore the ones the enemies gain, Evility. Having more of them appear is part of the challenge of the map.

You clearly have no idea how game design works. Nor do you for programming. For starters, programming isn't design.
