xPhoenixWrightxPosted 7/15/2012 5:52:55 AM | I am thinking about getting this, and know that the stories from each of the games aren't needed for each other, but if I get this one and really like it, do the older ones seem not as fun? Because of new mechanics that are introduced to this one. Should I start with the older ones anyways? (I do have all the systems for the older ones/remakes of older ones) --- Objection! |
Master_GamerPosted 7/15/2012 6:19:30 AM | Disgaea 1 is honestly gonna be kinda clunky. Disgaea 2 PSP fixes most of the problems the PS2 version was with interface, like skipping cutscenes and dialouge speed, and its not really clunkier than D3. I mean, I'm pretty sure they're selling D3 at full price still, and Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days for $20, so it makes more sense to test the waters with the cheaper game IMO. --- http://www.youtube.com/user/queenofficial#p/u/25/v8L3TCXsyX4 Queen owns. |
KsetratPosted 7/17/2012 10:32:43 AM | D1: i don't remember being able to skip the attack animations, which can take up a LOT of time for some of them. d2: allows turning them off, and as stated above has some other issues worked out a bit. d3: i enjoy the story line to it, and some things are a bit easier to deal with, but others might be a slight more of a challenge.
i'm also insane and have dropped over 400 hours into each one.... but can only remember bits and pieces of 1 and 2. lol... --- I will not hesitate to put my life on the line to keep myself out of harms way. Now Playing: Skyrim, WoW, Skyrim, whatever-distracts-me-this-day, Skyrim |
aces4839Posted 7/17/2012 10:38:42 AM | The PSP version of the first Disgaea had the option to turn off attack animations while the ps2 version lacks that option. |
Master_GamerPosted 7/17/2012 11:23:52 AM | Still can't beilve they expected people to grind CoO4 in Disgaea 1 without the option to turn off battle graphics. Like, how do you not notice that kind of problem? Then again, it took until Disgaea 4 for them to actually strategically plan your attacks in an SRPG by showing how much damage an attack would do. Which was something like their eight SRPG, seven if you exclude Soul Nomad since it did the whole squad-based battle thing. --- http://www.youtube.com/user/queenofficial#p/u/25/v8L3TCXsyX4 Queen owns. |
