Deus Ex had amazing story. Dishonored is just a crappy steampunk game.

The only (non-SMT) game that comes to mind is Sakura Wars: So Long My Love on the Wii... except I lost interest in that one pretty quickly.
I think some VN's have some fairly active components as well, and might compare favorably... but I haven't really played any VN's in at least a decade... and can't think of any solid examples off the top of my head.
