I want to say because her healing leaves are very useful in a support role.
But that doesn't explain the Dojima.

She has personality unlike Yukiko, she's not a walking plot device like Naoto, and isn't as annoying as Rise. *Brings out chair and popcorn.*

Admittedly, I voted for Dojima because he's objectively the best looking.

Marie never does any actual investigating or dungeoneering (the way I see it, the Fox heals them and Dojima freakin' shatters his ribs trying to chase a suspect, the fox was a joke entry anyway).

She has a crappy personality, and she's stupid(see post exam scenes) and she treats Yosuke like crap

Yukiko is hot, Chie is not. Rise is obviously. Naoto even is attractive
