I don't mind whether they keep or remove them, but... I'd like there to be some consistency. I played Devil Survivor and didn't see any honorifics.

It depends, if by removing honorifics they cut the ability to name him the it would be worse otherwise i dont mind them.

I kind of like the honorifics. If they took them out, I don't think it would be better or worse though.

Kinda sounds unnatural with the honorifics, but they would have to compensate some how for for the lack of if they did do away with them.

Although when I listen to the dub of the anime, it sounds odd without the honorifics to me.

The issue is that they're difficult to translate, and without them, you lose some meaning towards relationships present in the Japanese version.



That's the point of localization. This isn't Japanese, it's English. Finding a workaround is the point, the script writers are just lazy.

It could be laziness, or to retain the cultural setting that the plot occurs in. They do that in some Japanese anime, when the characters are in a western setting, they may forgo the honorifics and use words as "Mr." and "Ms.", even though it may sound funky when a Japanese VA says it.
