Well, I'm severely underleveled (Spoilers)

So, I somehow wasted a lot of time and forgot about Kanji, and now it's June 2nd and my team ranges from levels 16-18. I'm now about to face Kanji's shadow. I've been able to take out Nice Guy and have gotten close to take out Tough Guy, but no dice. Should I just let the game run of time and start from a week earlier.

This is the first time in an RPG that I've realized I need multiple save files.

I think it would be best to let the game reset one week. Then use that week to grind up to level. Can't really get that done in one day this early in the game unless you have a lot of HP and SP restoring items.

You can probably just grind in the dungeon until you get strong enough. Try using SOS to regain a bit of SP as you grind so you can go for longer. And then fuse the strongest persona you can.

If you abuse the SOS, focus on the restore hp/sp cards and take direct control of everyone (or just set them to conserve sp) you can do some decent grinding. But I dunno that is alot of levels you need to make up.

I can usually get through quite a few battles without any real sp loss using the above strategy. But you might be better off going back. Do you have the fox? If you have enough money you might be able to last awhile returning to him for healing.

Either way, good luck.

You don't need to let the week run out, or use multiple days for dungeons for that matter. Just use Goho-M and start from floor 1 working your way back up. By the time you're doing Kanji's dungeon hopefully you've at least started the Hermit S. Link (Fox at the Shrine) and can pay for SP recovery. You can also use the SOS option if you have Network Functions on to recover HP and SP at the start of every battle. There's also an ungodly amount of Beads (30% HP recover) that are in chests, so much so that I'm almost certain it's a 50% chance one will be in them.

If you don't have any or run out of Goho-M you can fuse Cu Sith (level 10; fuse Chariot Slime and Fool Izanagi) who will learn Traesto at level 15 (acts as Goho-M, 18 SP to use) as well as Growth 1 (1/4 EXP for inactive Personas) at level 11. You should also fuse Sarasvati (level 17; fuse Justice Archangel and Hanged Berith) who learns Invigorate 2 (5 SP recovered per turn) at level 19, which if Your S. Link with Yukiko is at 3+ will automatically be hit after fusing.

But do not, under any circumstances, spend more than 1 day in a dungeon (with the exception of the story-forced 2 days with Yukiko's Castle). It wastes a full day for every additional day you spend in there and serves no real purpose.

As for feeling underleveled, go back to Yukiko's Castle (talk to her at the main hub) make your way to the upper floors and run around between 6 and 7 hunting Golden Hands. For the time being you'll probably only kill 1 per encounter since you don't access to Almighty spells until level 33. You'll not only get a ton of EXP, but you'll also get a tone of Yen to cover fusion costs and SP recovery.

demunpuncher's giving solid advice.

That said, I found the easiest way for me to recover SP in a pinch was to enter the first floor of Yukiko's castle, grab all the chests, exit and repeat. All the chests on the first floor are small, and you should be able to get a decent amount of Snuff Souls in a reasonable amount of time... just don't be afraid to use 'em. Don't fall into the trap of pointless item hording.

Doing this, I've never had to use SOS, ever.

One thing's for damn sure: don't reset your game a week. That's silly.
