If you played P2 before then you can see that the cast of P4 has the maturity of a 10 year old and somehow can't accept a simple truth while the P2 cast had people the same age with Tatsuya and Lisa they already knew their issues when their shadows brought it up and never even bothering denying it.

Regarding P4, lets ignore NPCs because as far as the game is concerned they are part of the background and if you dont stablish them you wont even notice.
And people is wrong if you see closely at the end what the MC say is the momment were the characters snap out and acknowledge the Shadow, its normally like this:
Scenario 1: You are not me-kick shadow ass-a character makes a speech-you are not me-MC talks-You are me after all.
Scenario 2: You are not me-kick shadow ass- MC talks-character follow up speech-You are me after all.
In the end its ONLY after MC talks that they acknowledge their Shadows otherwise they would be in an infinite loop of shadow kicking (Assuming they have what it takes to defeat the shadow wich they dont have), in short No MC no shadow acceptance no one lives.
Then we have the SLs, the SLs are the only instance were the characters come in terms with their problems, providing MC do the required hand holding. In P3 the characters come to term with themselves alone or with the help of a friend not necessarely the MC.
Or we could use P2, the P2 cast face their Shadow witouth the help of Tatsuya and they dont need his advice to overcame them, THATS character devlopment.
Maybe its because im not sociable but i didnt befriend my classmates until the first term was complete, apparently in Inaba its enough to be the new guy, pretty unrealistic if you ask me.
Mate I been trying to say this but somehow his head is too think to understand it and why I said the P4 cast has the maturity of a 10 year old, starting from needing the MC to hold their hand to accept themselves which shouldn't have needed MC in the start to day to day life and then the murder mystery where they need his permission to make the big decisions instead of making it themselves and seeing if he agrees or not.
They didn't need the MC there to hold their hand but they needed a friend to share this with which was why the MC was there to be that friend to understand them not hold their hand because they are strong enough to do that on their own.
The P2 cast was more f***** up then any of the cast in P3 and P4 but they were able to accept themselves very quickly. Seriously compare Lisa to Rise and see who had it worse and who deserves someone to hold their hand. I doubt anyone who moves school to be able to make friends instantly because you are a stranger and no one knows you, its until much later when they understand you and befriend you.

I think its just preconception though since before I played SMT1 I didn't bother with P1 but after I saw what I was missing out on I jumped right into P1 and loved it, the MegaTen franchise has the best first person dungeon crawlers and after liking P1 I was thinking of giving Madoka portable another shot. |

Well I don't mind first person dungeon crawlers as long as the story and gameplay is good which SJ and P1 are as well as the old SMT games. Agreed that the demon collection is amazing in any of them. |
