Really? o_O wow, maybe I'll have to pick it up then. Is there only one character that uses a katana in this game or no?

Honestly, no fighting game is too complicated for a dualshock, it's just whether or not you're comfortable enough with one.
Like how I personally can't get myself use to using something like an arcade stick, even starting a specific fighting game with it and not using anything else for a month, I still can't get the few of one. :x
This game is looking a bit simple compared to some fighters (Not simple-simple, but not that bad-sorta-simple.) possibly because of the original "version" of the game? Maybe they figure if they make it seem too complicated some of the Persona fans (Ones who don't play fighters at least.) won't wanna touch it or something. :<
The only issue I see with using a dual-shock would be some awkward button combinations, as this game uses way more 2-button inputs than most fighters. You should be able to shortcut the most awkward of them though.
A second ant? No, no, it's his brother, avenging the death of his twin. I'm going to follow him home.....kill his whole family. ~ Space Ghost

There's a lot of stuff like A+C and B+D I believe. (Was it A+C?), which in the case of dualshock is A = square, B = triangle, C = circle, D = X (I think this would be the case? B and C might be reversed actually, don't remember...).
So B+D could be a bit awkward.
Then there's stuff like 2A+C for a little "hop" like jump. Of course there's normal stuff like A+B and C+D, but still.
