Never played a Monster Hunter game, should I just wait for 4?

Never played a MH game, but they interest me since they're so popular. Should I just wait for MH4 when it comes out? I'm in no rush really to play it.

I have an import 3DS so I don't have to wait for any localization. It'll probably be tough trying to figure out a new style of gameplay since I can only read a little Japanese, but it can't be too bad I figure.

Personally, I say get this one and skip 4. Wait till they inevitably release a Monster hunter 4G. The G versions of games have far more content. Look at Monster Hunter Freedom 2 compared to Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (Called Monster Hunter Freedom 2G in Japan). Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is essentially the G version of Monster Hunter Tri.

No poin in skipping this one. MH4 will not be localized until 2014, do you really want to wait that long?

Build up the library then. MH3G should keep you busy for 6 months, by March 2013, you can join some of us on MH4 Online. After, join again for MH4G.

play Dragon's Dogma, it should keep you occupied until MH4 is out, and MH4 is nothing like MH3, DD is much closer.

This is a lie. MH4 will be much more like a MH game, because it's a MH game, and it uses the same mechanics as all the other MH games.

The new jumping and grappling mechanics work absolutely nothing like they do in DD. MH4 is MH with new dimensions and mechanics, why can't people wrap their minds around this?

Do we even know if we are getting MH 4? The release data only says for Japan. Is all of this speculation or is there proof?
