Try to get me even more excited about the multiplayer.

I'm planning on picking this game up when it releases, and I have two local friends who'll each be buying a 3DS for the game (And a couple others, of course.).

This will be the first MH game for all of us, so we expect to be overwhelmed by the amount of content (In a good way, of course).

I've played the demo itself for over 8 hours and have been having a blast with it, so I can only imagine how much more fun I'll have with the full game - especially playing through the guild quests with my friends.

But yeah, I know there are at the very least 180 guild quests (I noticed that the wiki page for them isn't finished so I assume there are quite a few more yet.), which has me excited, but is there anything in particular about questing with friends that I should be excited about?

tl;dr: Try getting me more pumped for guild quests by way of fun multiplayer experiences or by letting me know of things I should look forward to the most.

Playing online with 4 blademasters can feel a bit "crammed". One of you guys should use a gun or bow and provide some status support.
Example: gunner uses paralyze shots, moster gets paralyzed, the 3 blademasters begin whailing on the monster.

Its good to have at least 1 gunner who can kinda sit back and do constant damage.

One of the two friends of mine who are getting the game claims that he'll most likely main a bow/bowgun.

Of course, he may change his mind once he actually tries out all of the weapons, but yeah, I'm hoping that he mains a bow/bowgun, at least during guild quests.

I'm probably gonna main a LS during solo play, but using one while playing with friends probably won't be the best idea, especially since I'm a newbie and will more than likely trip my other friend up a lot who plans on using a GS.
Maybe I'll try using a hammer or switch-axe, since I enjoyed using those in the demo. I also like dual swords, but I'd have to level them up to do decent damage.

I guess we'll see, though, heh.

Playing with my 2 friends is really fun - We played the hell out of Tri. The first time I encountered the Great Jaggi (I was playing blind), they told me to run, so we all booked it. Hunters have a different running animation if you're running from a big monster, it's pretty funny.

Then we eventually got myself some cool gear, and they eased me through Quropeco. Thanks to gathering (we went on gathering runs and just got tons of honey for mega potions), we were able to kill Barroth pretty easily.. Every time we encountered a new monster, we flipped out. They're all so different, especially when you begin to discover the cool things like Diablos and Barioth.

It's just a lot of fun multiplayer - I don't know why, but one of the most hilarious things we did was do powderstone runs, or steal eggs from Rathian's nest. Either way, it's just a lot of fun dealing with monsters and having different roles. We all naturally gravitated towards different weapons.

I used the Lance, someone else used the Long Sword, and someone else used the Sword and Shield. Eventually when we got to Uragaan we discovered the hammer, and it was just hilarious seeing everyone bust his chin in with their hammers. Then we found mini uragaan... And got carted.

Anyways, there's just so much to do, it's just.. really fun. Also, since we all chose different weapons and preferred different skills, I would oftentimes get asked to help kill Barioth (I was soloing HR Barioth easily because I really liked evade and had so much practice on him) to help my buds out with armor/weapon materials, likewise, when there was an event (they changed weekly), we'd all get together and try our best to win, like double Diablos or Jhen Moran because it netted awesome rewards.

We had MH saturdays from 10pm, and we'd all get together to play at that time. Of course, we'd play oftentimes outside of that time frame, but due to school and/or work (we're in our early 20's), we couldn't always get together. Except for Saturday night at 10. And damn was it fun.. We still do it every now and then, I'm just really sad because only one of my friends has a Wii U, so it'll just be a duo for now.

After playing the demo, I fell in love with the hunting horn, so I'll be maining that.

Ha, awesome.

Sounds like you had a hell of a time with Tri, so I take it you'll enjoy Ultimate even more, just for the fact that there's 3 times as many large monsters in the game.

Sorry to hear that only one of your friends has a Wii U, though.
