So true. I remember when I first started giving Hunting Horn a shot, near the end of my time playing Unite(I only stopped because my analog borked... try playing MH without being able to run forward. It's impossible, lol). Loved it, it was so much different from the Longsword and Hammer I'd mostly used up until then.
I should start learning them in this game soon.. mostly been using Gunlance.
Nice to see new people enjoying the game. :) I love it too -- put thousands of hours into Tri, and I'm past 750 on Ultimate. It's funny because I refuse to recommend the game to anyone. It's a trial by fire -- if you can overcome the initial learning curve you're probably hooked, but if you can't you just get frustrated and quit permanently. I'd never be able to guess whether someone would fall into one camp or the other, not even friends.
Heh, yeah, it really is... I started with MHF1 about a year and a half ago. Almost lost interest in the first few hours because I hd no idea what I was doing... didn't know about Village Quests, the Supply Box, how to carve monsters... yeah, I was a mega-noob, lol.
But I'm so glad I stuck with it.

no problem bud :)
Here's a newb story for me...well I still am technically a newb at 83hours in..I barely can use decorations.
For the longest time I didnt know how to raise my HR, so I kept doing villager quests and more villager quests until I got to the 6star village quests and found them to be extremely difficult..also I caught on once I realized all the materials I need to upgrade my armor and weapons from where i'm at now in the game...required me to be atleast HR6 xD
so now i'm going back to the port and doing all the quests there, and i'm now at HR2, but I still need to get to HR4 before I can even begin to farm Freezer Sacs!
It isn't what you wear that makes you look good
It's how you wear it that makes it look good B)
I'm in the same boat. I don't typically take any enjoyment out of grinding, but this game is a major exception. It just feels so rewarding to finally get that Mantle or Pallium (or whatever rare material you're targeting) that you were after and use it to strengthen a weapon to kick more ass or make another suit of awesome armor.
